Pilot License

Owning a private pilot license is like owning a driving license for the fastest car, except a hundred times better. You can have lunch at the opposite end of the state and still be home for dinner. The biggest challenge with a private pilot’s license is flying safely. Despite extreme caution and training, there are unwanted challenges that could inevitably spoil an otherwise good trip.

There are more than 163,000 PPL owners in the US and a lot more in Europe. Flying private affords one middle ground to pursue both a personalized passion and commercial career through FlyBy. We have a training program that specifically targets students with a PPL. The hours required to join the program range from 45 to 80 hours. The total number of training hours for all PPL students is 11 months.

Types of Licences : Private pilot licence

The PPL allows the pilot to fly any aircraft under the VFR conditions virtually. It is an exciting pursuit for most candidates because you only need a few weeks to complete the required length of log hours. Does this mean anyone can become a private pilot?

Medical Prerequisites to Begining Your Training And Flight Travel Experience

You are going to need a minimum medical class three certificate in order to begin your training.  This is a standard to make sure those who are piloting an aircraft are unlikely to have serious health problems while in the air.  A flight school can help you to get this certification as they commonly handle this requirement for their students.

Just because you have some sort of handicap does not mean you cannot necessarily quality fly pilot licensing.  While ther are certain disqualifications, you would be surprised at the obstacles some people overcome to receive their class 3 medical and begin a fun and lucrative flight career.

Other Requirements to get a PPL

• Filling out the eligibility requirements to the satisfaction of the chosen aviation academy
• Successful completion of the training program by a certified flight instructor
• A pass of the written test
• Earning the necessary endorsement requirements
• Passing the private pilot check ride
• A student, recreational or sports pilot license is an added advantage to make the training and qualification faster

Most PPL owners will clock 60 to 75 hours before qualifying. Factors that will potentially influence the number of hours include:
• Flight frequency
• Aptitude
• Pilot school
• Flight instructors

The typical duration for completing the PPL course is three months. The instructor will deem you prepped after you pass their assessment before proceeding to take the test.

Commercial Pilot Opportunities – Upgrading Your Licences

For those that have a private pilot license, you might want to consider taking your training to the next level, pursuing a career in aviation through a commercial pilots license. If you are serious about earning a full time living as a pilot we suggest that you get an Airline Transport Pilot License – which includes a commercial pilot’s license and the other certification necessary to put you on a path to becoming a first officer and eventually a captain at a large commercial carrier. Even if you do not yet have a pilot's license, but know you want to pursue a career in the sky, FlyBy’s ATP integrated program can take you from zero to ATPL certified in as little as 14 months. PPL holders can shave a few months of this off the timeline by crediting them for aircraft hours already logged.

Information on requirements to achieve the EASA ATPL certification

Spain’s aviation authority requires that candidates be successful students for spoken, written, or reading English. Our pilot school is a qualified host for testing English, in partnership with the English center in Mallorca. We use the EASA regulation by the Hungarian Civil Authority and avail a professional team to ensure you meet the requirement for the ELP6.

You will also have to pass a personality test to see if you are a good fit for aircraft training. Anyone who fails this test cannot be admitted to flight school and cannot re-take the test. Applicants will also have to test for physics and math aptitude prior to entering our flight school. Those that do not pass the test will have to brush up on their skillsets prior to enrolling in our ATPL integrated program.

What does ATPL flight training entail?

The the integrated ATPL training program has ground and flight school training. You you start with ground school training and rapidly move into doing both ground school and pilot training simultaneously through the first phase of the ATPL course. The final phase of the course is mostly related to flight and simulator training once you have passed all your theoretical exams.

Ground school

TheATPL ground training introduces you to vital aviation details to build your aeronautical skills. It is best to study with an instructor who will ease your learning for the course's fast completion. At FlyBy we offer 750 hours of ground training which should cover all the subjects necessary to cover your EASA theoretical requirements.

Flight school – Get Experience Flying an Aircraft

ATPL flight training involves more than handling the control wheel. You will need a grasp of at least the following additional areas:
• Preflight preparation
• Navigation
• Emergency responses

The number of hours required for the pilot license differs depending on the jurisdiction. The FAA in the United States requires 1,500 hours of flight time to qualify for an ATPL license. At FlyBy you will receive 238 hours of flight training which will qualify you for an EASA ATP certification.

The pilot’s career is lengthy and competitive around the world. There are endless stories of pilots who wanted to join the field for as long as they can remember. Some went as far as saving up to pay for the PPL instead of buying a car or house. The most passionate pilots do not stop at the PPL but will grow to become a commercial pilot.

Join our commercial pilot school to advance your PPL or start from scratch to achieve the ATPL rating quickly so you can fly a commercial aircraft. You can consult us about getting an ATPL by calling +44 7828 886964.
